Our Story
Having grown up in the South Wales valleys, surrounded by animals from a young age, pets have always been a huge part of my life. So much so, that at 18 years old I walked into a veterinary practice and declared I wanted a job, not just any job, but that I wanted to be a veterinary nurse. At the time, I didn’t know that the veterinary nurse title wasn’t protected and that technically, anyone could call themselves one.
More than 15 years later, I’m a registered veterinary nurse who has worked for the regulator, been editor of Europe’s largest veterinary nursing publication, and served on the British Veterinary Nursing Council. I’ve hand-reared litters for rescues, volunteered, and helped lobby parliament to make change and improve animal welfare. And now, it’s time to build bridges and break down walls to support pet carers with evidence-based information and support.
During a cost-of-living crisis, it's difficult for many animal advocates to access trusted guidance to make informed choices. Socio-economic barriers are becoming more challenging, fact-checking is removed from social platforms, and there is much social noise. That’s where PetLink comes in. Now is the perfect time to build bridges between the veterinary professions and the pet-owning public.
Collectively, we will build a community and strive to grow and build something special.
Founded in integrity, driven by a passion for animal welfare.
